Getting the egg
Byrdonis Nest is an Overgrowth (act 1) event. It appears only when no player already has a pet from an event. It offers:
- Eat: gain 7 max HP.
- Take: add Byrdonis Egg to your deck.
Byrdonis Egg is an unplayable Quest card: "Can be hatched at a Rest Site."
When it hatches
The egg does not hatch on its own. While it is in your deck, every rest site offers Hatch. Choosing Hatch takes that rest site's action, like Rest or Smith, unless you have Miniature Tent.
What hatches
Hatch gives you the relic Byrdpip: "Upon pickup, gain the card Byrd Swoop. A Byrdpip will accompany you in battles."
- The Byrdonis Egg in your deck turns into Byrd Swoop: 0 energy, deal 14 damage (18 upgraded).
- Byrdpip joins every combat as your pet from then on.
Pets and other offers
Byrdpip counts as a pet from an event. While you have it, Byrdonis Nest does not appear again, and the Ancient Pael does not offer Pael's Legion. See Neow and the Ancients.
Every act 1 path ends with a row of rest sites before the boss, so an egg taken at Byrdonis Nest can always be hatched before the act 1 boss.
