Hellraiser is a rare Ironclad Power (2 energy, 1 upgraded): "Whenever you draw a card containing 'Strike', it is played against a random enemy."
Which cards it plays
Hellraiser triggers on cards tagged as Strikes the moment you draw them: every character's basic Strike and cards such as Pommel Strike, Twin Strike, Perfected Strike, Blight Strike, Seeker Strike and Minion Strike.
How a chain forms
A Strike that draws a card can draw another Strike, which Hellraiser plays at once, which can draw again:
| Card | Effect |
|---|---|
| Pommel Strike (Ironclad, 1 energy) | 9 damage, draw 1 card (10 damage, draw 2 upgraded) |
| Minion Strike (Regent token, 0 energy) | 6 damage, draw 1 card, Exhaust |
With two Pommel Strikes and a small draw pile, each one keeps drawing the other.
What ends the loop
- Every enemy dies.
- There is no card left to draw: your draw pile and discard pile are both empty, or the next card drawn is not a Strike.
- Every enemy you can hit has infinite HP. Then Hellraiser plays at most 9 cards per turn and shows a message when it stops. The count resets at the end of your turn.
The 9-card cap was added in the 7 May 2026 beta patch and reached the main branch on 18 June 2026 to stop infinite loops from freezing the game. Before the 12 March 2026 patch, Hellraiser could also play Strikes when there was no valid target; that was fixed.
See Ironclad builds and should you remove Strikes.
